The history of Stewart & Jasper began in 1948, when Romain Stewart and Lee Jasper teamed up in the poultry business. Recognizing the potential of California almonds as a West Side crop, they began to diversify into farming in 1958, when they planted their first 100 acres of almonds. By the mid-1960’s the poultry business was completely phased out, and the focus was turned to almonds.

From its modest beginning, our company has gradually expanded into an integrated operation involving thousands of acres, as well as a hulling, shelling, processing, and marketing facility, which handles a variety of crops.

Today, the traditions and the business philosophy of our original founders are being carried on by Jim and Jason Jasper, the son and grandson of Lee Jasper.
